Welcome to the start of a short, 4-day week at Heritage South, highlighted by Field Day and the second grade visit to the Heritage campus this week.
On Tuesday, the third grade students will welcome the second graders from Avon East in their classrooms. During the morning of the 26th, each Avon East second grade class will be paired with a third grade class to learn more about the building and hopefully ease any nerves related to their transition to a new building next year. These students will also have a question and answer assembly with me during the visit to learn more about the building and their upcoming third grade experience.
We would like to take a moment to thank the many parents and family members that volunteered their time as guest readers and chaperones during the students’ visits to the local nursing homes in conjunction with “Right to Read Week” this past week. The students had a lot of fun with the many literacy-themed events all throughout the week.
Thanks for your time and attention to this newsletter-we hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing 3-day Memorial Day weekend!

Hello Parents –
Field Day for South is next week on Thursday May 28th. We are still in need of volunteers to help the day run smoothly! We have highlighted below some of the classes where we could use more parents, but please volunteer to help as most teachers are teamed up with another class or two! We especially could use AM helpers! Thanks for your consideration and we look forward to a fun filled day for the kids!
