Each month a reminder will be sent to stress the importance of combing your child’s head at least once a week (Fridays usually work best) to screen for lice. Combing is a healthy hygiene measure that provides an opportunity to screen your child for lice weekly before lice becomes a problem in your home. Children are especially vulnerable to lice which is why we encourage parents to be proactive as we work to prevent lice. If you do find that your child has lice, please contact the school nurse to make her aware of the situation. She will be available to assist you in treatment and with any questions you have. I will send a monthly notification reminding our school community of the importance of frequent head checks.
