In late September your child took mathematics and reading assessments called Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®).
MAP tests are administered to determine student instructional levels and to measure student academic growth throughout the school year. Your child took the tests on a computer with students generally using a class period per assessment.
The uniqueness of the MAP tests is that they adapt to the appropriate level of your child's learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing.
Each school year, students in kindergarten through eighth grade will take these two tests. The general testing periods will be Fall (September), Winter (January) and Spring (April-May).
At this time all families should have received the results of the MAP tests either at Parent-Teacher Conferences in November or via mailing.
Below is a link to a quick reference guide to help you understand your child’s scores for families that received the mailing. If you have any questions, please call the Main Office at (440) 934-3800.
