Friday (9/4/15) will be our first home football game of the year in Joe Firment Stadium. Like last year, we are going to ask that all students remain in the bleachers during the game.
In the past we have had numerous concerns regarding unsupervised students at the home football games, such as:
students congregating at the concession stand and behind the home bleachers during the game - large groups of students, many of which engage in horse play and inappropriate language
students consistently out of their seats and interfering with adults watching the game.
These are not actions that are condoned. In order to address these concerns, the following stadium procedures have been implemented for all home football games:
All elementary grade students (K-5) must be accompanied by a parent in order to enter the stadium.
All elementary grade students (K-5) will sit with their parents in the home bleachers during the game.
Students must remain in the bleachers during the game.
Students in grades 6-8 will sit in the new bleachers just north of the football field (the "AMZone"). AMS students must remain in the bleachers during the game.
Students will be able to go to the concessions stand during halftime and (during the game) use the restroom with permission from school staff supervising the event.
Students will display positive sportsmanship and behaviors in accordance with the district's Student Code of Conduct.
Those students who fail to comply with these requests will be escorted to their parents and asked to remain under their parents’ supervision. Further violations of the rules and regulations will result in being escorted from the stadium and possible forfeiture to attend future stadium events.
Student attendance at sporting events is an important element to promoting school spirit. It is our hope that students sitting in the bleachers will cheer and support the cheerleaders, band, and athletes on Friday night.
I appreciate your understanding and assistance as these actions are intended to ensure the safety and the enjoyment of the evening for all spectators.
With Eagle Pride, Erich Frombach, Athletic Director
